When Rick Ross first introduced himself in 2005, his monumental single “Hustlin’” took center stage. This time around, the Miami native’s larger-than-life persona has overshadowed singles from his sophomore album Trilla, despite extra star-power assists from R. Kelly (”Speedin’”) and T-Pain (”The Boss”). From his lyrics (”I see colors when I get high – life looks like a box of Fruit Loops”) to his penchant for flaunting his pudgy physique in videos à la The Notorious B.I.G., the laidback ‘hood legend has clearly become the brightest star of the 305’s hip-hop galaxy: Trilla debuted as Billboard’s number one album. Rhapsody had a chance to catch up with the Boss while he was running around Atlanta. He spoke on having a number one album, working with Jay-Z, and traveling the world.

“They think I’m crazy,” 50 told us last week in his Connecticut mansion, chuckling about what Eminem and Shady Records tell him about giving away so much material for free. “Sometimes [Em] misses why I put it out. He goes, ‘Why did you put it out?’ But I can’t be as hot as I’m gonna be if I don’t play around. I gotta spar before I go fight the champ. That’s my concept of it. Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel will spend the next three months in prison, after he was accused of violating his probation for a third time yesterday (March 28).
Probation officials revealed that Sigel provided a false urine sample and tested positive for Xanax and Percocet five times over the past month.
According to the rapper, his stint under house arrest has left him unable ‘to earn the living” he used to earn prior to getting into trouble with the law.
Sigel told the judge that his relapse was brought on by money problems.
He also revealed he was about to lose his house, because he can’t travel to earn money through performances.
“I’m losing everything because of this situation,” Sigel said.
‘I just feel like she gotta live through me,’ rapper tells MTV News.
“All her supporters who feel Remy had an influence on their life should write a short letter to the judge asking for the shortest sentence possible,” he wrote. “Send it to LettersForRemy@gmail.com.”
